Basket Weaving

In this activity, students will learn one of the essential life skills of colonial and antebellum farm life: basket weaving. Using a grocery bag base and wide raffia, each student will create a small basket to take home, while, with a museum educator, they discuss the uses of baskets, and the history of basket making.
